Blacked Out Wheel Wells

Guys~

Thanks for all your great posts, I am a happy owner of a 2003.5 with chrome 18's.

Ever since I bought the car I couldn't understand why the rear wheel wells have no covering whatsoever, just overspray from the body paint. A friend of mine is a detailer and he told me about spraying the wheel wells with either WD-40 or high-gloss ArmorAll to make the wells look deep.

The front I can do this on because they have the plastic covering but the rear does not. I was thinking about using a Plasti-Kote or something like that for the rear but I don't know if it would just flake off. Does anybody have any suggestions for a surface that would take a high-gloss ArmorAll coating?

Thanks again.

Just a thought.... Maybe you could put on the stuff that pickup trucks use for painted-on bedliners.

My exact feeling shortly after taking delivery of my G. It's more prevalent for Ivory Pearl. Here's what I did a while back.

That looks really good. I think I'll try that.

Thanks a lot.

Be sure to cover up all the vital parts (suspension, brakes, etc.). I also covered up part of the body to prevent accidental sprays on to car.

Good Luck.

Also THX723 sprayed bedliner on his seats too. He likes to track and Auto-X his car a lot and told be this is better than a real BRIDE racing seat. I just bought a can of Rhino coating so I'm ready for this weekend.

Here he is getting his gun rack ready and installing KC foglights on the roof of his car.. =P j/k

I will more likely go just to watch a bit, after that I have to take the wife out to watch Matrix before her work starts. Maybe I'll get my brother in with his 240sx and have him race a bit.
