Hi guys,
About shopping for tires! I think it's about time for me to do some shopping too! My Yokohoma AVS ES100 are not much different treatwear from my previous michelin on the 18' coupe. I got about 15K out of them. I heard the g-Force T/A KDW 2 is pretty good? Anyone have any comments? The reason I changed from Michelin to Yokohoma because I thought these tires would last a bit longer but not really!
thanks guys,
pd

That's a good info. I rarely take my car on these snow trip anyway! Hmmm, I thought the "D, W" in KDW2 stands for Dry and Wet?? So "winter" you mean the snow thing, not about the wet rainy season, right?

I've been buying tires from TireRack for 10 years without any issues except
one. You must know what your buying and what questions to ask otherwise
your at the salesmans mercy. Example, on the previous post Sac9204 only
got 15K miles from his Yoko's that's poor mileage. You need to ask what the
tred wear information on the tires indicates. Michelins on my car have a
rating of 240 so I can expect close to 30K miles from these tires. Bridgestones for example have a rating of 140 while my drag radials have
160 so you can see what to expect from those tires. Knowledge is power!
Anything over 220 should give you good mileage and be soft enough to have
fun with at the stoplights........haha

I did check on the treadwear of Yoko before I got them. I ran a full review of price check, perform and treatlife from Tirerack.com with other tire brands. For yoko it was like 280 while my previous stock michelin was 240. I was wondering these tread life from tirerack.com is standard for all different brand of tires because if you wear a Nike shoe seize 9, you might not get the same seize if you change to Adidas...
