bridgestone turanza el42

whats the verdict on these? i had to replace one of my goodyear stock 215/55/17" tires on my g35s due to a nail, discount tires recommended the turanza's. So far they seem soft and not too stiff, wondering if i should go with the michelin pilots instead? I dont race, but i like to have a nice stiff ride that can corner well, and the turanza's dont seem to be co-operating.

Re: bridgestone turanza el42

The Turanza is a touring tire. It's not a performance tire. It's designed to be quieter and more comfortable cruising around, which it is, by far, compared to the Goodyear OEM tires. It's what came on my car. They're great for road trips. They suck at autocross. I'm almost down to the wear bars, and I'll be dumping them for some Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions in 225/55R17 (most likely choice at this point).

Which Goodyears did you have, the GS-D's or the RS-A's?

Michelin's are very expensive. Are you looking at the Pilot Sport or the Pilot Sport A/S?

rs-a's. but they were stiff on corners and seemed to hug corners alot better.

yes, the michelins at discount are $221 each.

That sounds like the price of the Pilot Sport A/S. Supposed to be a really good all-around tire, with much less in the way of "sacrifice" than you'd think.

Get the Pilot Sport A/Ss. There's no comparison with the RSAs, especially on roads that are anything but dry.

ok, problem solved. had them change the 2 front ones to turanza's as well and man they are quiet. must have been a problem with the 2 different treads, felt like jello.

Did you keep RSAs on the rear wheels?

Oh, I didn't catch that part. Yeah, you can get some pretty funky handling with different tires front and rear.
