Rear tires wearing faster on outside?

I have a 2005 Coupe with OEM 19's. The rear tires are pretty much cooked and it's time for new ones at 19K miles, but i did notice that they wore faster on the outside than they are on the inside. I didnt really notice it before until recently.

What would cause this?

I have not had an alignment since i purchased the car, so I'll definately have one done once i get the new tires. but i just dont want my new tires to have any kind of uneven wear issues.

Front tires already get the crappy wear on the insides, so those probably have to be changed out now also

There's your problem.
Heavy acceleration in the corner or high cornering speed will wear out the outside pretty quick.

I don't think either of these guys are on the forum anymore man.

You need to get your front adjusted. Could be a slight toe problems or you might be running a small amount of positive camber.

Toe is when the wheels do this / \ (if you were looking at the top of the car. Camber is when they do this / \ when looking at the back of the car. (this is positive camber \ / )

Thanks for the info 4dgs... My car in bone stock, didn't lower it. I am still running on OEM tires with 25K miles.. Should I take it to the dealer and let them adjust it since I still have the warranty and they keep on bugging me about bring my car in for service. I guess I'll do that next week. Thanks again...

Sure, but get a quote for the work first. Make sure they don't charge you at the *** for camber and toe adjustment. I'm unsure if they will fix it under warranty, IMO they should.

Get them to pricematch what a local nissan dealer would charge for alignment. Could save about $40.

I don't think it's possible to get positive camber with a load on the suspension... maybe if the car was in the air, but otherwise, I don't see it happening.
