Can I lower my car with my new wheels?

Can I lower my car with my new wheels?
I just put on some 18x8.5" 35mm offset rims with 245/40/18 tires on my sedan. With the wide rims and low offset, they are pretty flush with the fender. I was wondering if I lower my sedan with the Eibach pro-kit, if the wheels would hit my fender. Anyone know if I can lower my sedan without causing any problems. Thanks.

Re: Can I lower my car with my new wheels?
I have the eibach kit, and 20x8.5 ADR Sterlings on 245/35's with a +38 offset. I though I was rubbing in the front, but it was the Infiniti Bra which I took off today and have no rubbing issues anymore.
1. Your overall tire height is 25.7"
2. Stock tire height (assumming 215/55/17's) is 26.3"
3. For comparison my tires measure about 26.75"
With the tire combination you have, the overall diameter of the combo is more than 1/2 inch shorter than stock vs. the combination I have (lowered 1 inch with tires 1/2" taller than stock).
Eibach's should be fine. Any other opinions?

I've also got 8.5" +38 sterlings, and use a 1" spacer on the rear, lowered with eibachs. Our tires are 245/40-19 and 255/40-19 which are 26.7" front and 27" tall in rear, and have no rubbing issues. you should be fine.
