19 inch rims in Chicago? New York? Pothole Land

I live in Chicago and I really want 19s for my G35c 5AT.
I am considering these http://www.spyeng.com/spy/supermesh.html

But I am very worried about the ride on 275/35/19 tires and cracking a rim. Also I don't want to lower my car so would 19's have a huge wheel gap?

Anyone riding 19s on some messed up streets? I think my smart option would be to get some stock 18's but I would like something different and bigger but seems like the cons outweigh the pros

Nice looking rim! I like your taste!
I live 30miles east of NYC and commute in and out to work everyday with my Coupe. If you've never been to NYC, the roads in and around the city are not 19" friendly. Down right nasty! The LIE has been under construction for what seems like forever, so there's always to look out for. So far, I've had my 19's on for a short while, but have taken my regular everyday commute, and other than taking it easy over some areas in Queens, I would say my Volks on 35 front and 30 rear Nitto's are holding up quite well. I havent yet felt anything that made me want to get out and look my wheels to see if something happen. Nevertheless, 35 and 30 series tires isnt the best choice for such roads, but as long as you're careful, it works well. Oh ans one more, thing make sure the rims you get a FORGED! Stay away from your standard billet aluminum, as they're too soft and will bend and break easier!

I would keep with Forged rims for them to last in that type of enviroment. The ones you are looking at are not forged, those rims are Axis Supermesh, which from what information I received on them are cast. One really good pot hole and you might have a bend or ding on them.

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Do you guys think I should just upgrade to the stock 18's from ebay? Because I know forged is expensive

The stock 18's are strong! Very dependable and best yet, I have mine up and the auction is ending in like 3 hours! Current price is like $1200 something....

Search: G35 Rims and they'll come, but there's only 1 hour and 55min left..........
