I just purchased some OEM 18' coupe wheels for my 04 Sedan. What is the largest tire I can place on them. From what I have read I can go 245/45/18. Tire rack suggests 225/45/18 front, and 255/40/18 rear. I want to stay the same size all around so I can rotate the tires. Will 255/40/18 fit all around or should I go with the 245/45/18?

 

are you lowered, if so on wat because 255/40 might rub.. i dont think there would be any issues if you ran 245/45/18 all around

 

I'm not lowered. My concern is the width of the tire on the front rim. Will it fit? I know it isn't as wide. Also, will it rub anywhere.

All the wheels on the oem coupe 18's are the same size. 18x8 +30

If you dont plan on lowering the car then a 245/45/18 will fit all around on the sedan.

lowered cars will handle better cuz they have a lower center of gravity

 

So, if I'm thinking of lowering the car with a set of Z springs or something would I be better off going with the 245/40/18 tires?

^^^Will answer your questions. Remember you have 8" rims up front and 8.5 rims in back with the OEM 18" rims

Don't forget to maintain a stagger to keep the VDC happy...you don't want the same height of tires all around.

 

I'm putting these on a sedan. It was said in an earlier post that the rims were 8" all around coming off the coupe. Anyone sure if the rims are staggered or if they are the same? I don't think I'm going to stagger the sedan as I want to be able to rotate the tires.

no they are not staggered wheels as i stated above. They are all 18x8 +30

If you are going to lower the car then you'll want to run a 245/40/18 or 235/45/18 all around.

I also just bought 18's from a coupe to go on my 03.5 sedan. I will not be lowering it.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. In my seaching I wanted a definitive answer. I am considering buying coupe 18's for my '05 sedan. I heard in the past that the wheels are "keyed" so it can't be rotated... Is this true? I would be planning to run 245/40/18 when the tires wear out and would like to rotate tires (without dismounting them from the wheel). Thanks in advance for the help!

 

That was the best website I've come across in a few weeks looking for right tire sizes I could use for an G35 coupe 6mt with 19's. Stock tires are front:225/40/19 and rear:245/40/19. Looks like you could have a direct fitment tire size 245/35/19, 255/35/19 safely for all season tires. There's a number of other sizes you could use also but that was one that came up automatically.

They have the Michelin's on there site but was interesting was I went on Goodyear's and saw they have the Eagle F1 all season tires for that size. Just thought I'd share this. Got a bit exited about seeing all season tires besides the Michelin's.
