Hey folks. I see a million "look at my wheels! what wheels should I get?" threads, but what good are wheels unless you wrap 'em up with the right rubber you are looking for? It'd probably be to our benefit to have a nice "tire info" thread going so people can make more educated decisions in their purchases.
I'll start with my experiences so far:
Stock Michellin Pilot Sports (225/45/18 Front 24lbs, 245/45/18 Rear 25lbs)
I drove on three sets of these for my first 55k miles. They wore pretty quickly, even during constant speed highway driving. The road holding was good, although I could spin my car much easier with them than the BFG KDW2s I currently drive with. These tires were much quieter than the KDW2s. I was satisfied with them, but they are pretty expensive for stock sizes ($220-$250 per).
1st set: lasted until 22k miles.
2nd set: lasted until 41k miles.
3rd set: lasted unitl 55k miles.
BFG KDW2s (stock sizes) are heavier than the stock tires, (25 and 28 pounds respectively) but wore out MUCH slower again, with lots of highway driving. My first set lasted me from 55k miles to 86k. I'm currently riding on the ones I got at 86k, and am just getting to 109k miles with about 40% tread left front/rear.
These tires grip amazingly well, I haven't been able to spin out with them. They are much cheaper (almost $100 less) than the Michellins but are also a lot noisier. If you can put up with the road noise, they are the tire for you!
Anyway, what tires have you guys driven on, what do you know about them stats wise (price, weight, treadwear, etc) what were your favorites, etc?
I realize that there are a lot of variables such as tire width/wheel size, etc, but can't hurt to post up your impressions of whatever you've had.
Oh, and help me pick out my next set! I don't need ones that'll last 30k miles anymore since I finally have a second car!
It's time for max performance! LOL

I'll take any tire as long as it doesn't scream and gives me a minimum of 15,000 miles on the rears. All tires will give me 15,000 up front plus some but I need to do the flipping every 3,500-4,000 miles for the tire feathering.

Well done sir!
I have used NItto (nt 555, 450, NeoGen), Yok Parada Spec I & II, Falken Azenis, Kuhmo's (dont remember what model) and none satisfy me like BFG KDW 2's. For all weather all types of driving, these outperform all others.
I also understand that Mich Pilot's are good, I've never had them though.
