Must I bleed?

I just installed some EBC Greenstuff for the fronts. They're not as good as stock, however, brake dust is less, although, not completely eliminated. I noticed from other posts that some guys mentioned performance was simliar to stock. I didn't bleed after my install. Would that make a difference. I've driven about 400 miles since my install. Thanks ahead

Re: Must I bleed?

How did you push the caliper pistons back in? Did you open the bleeder valve then pushed them in? If you did it that way then yes you will need to bleed them.

If you didn't, then you should be ok. But there is one thing you must do once you have new brake pads on. That is to bed them. Drive the car up to 45mph and do easy braking to a stop. DO this about 4~6 times. Then bring the car to about 40mph and put on the brakes hard to a stop. Do this about 3 times. This will create a layer on your rotors for the pads to give optimum performance.

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Re: Must I bleed?

I wonder if Infiniti can put the EBC pads on, as part of their warranty work. I am tired of cleaning the brake dust every time I drive the car. Once the stock once I worren out, I'd like to go to EBCs.

Re: Must I bleed?

I used a clamp and a block of wood to push the pistons back in, as shown in the tutorial on Fresh Alloy. I didn't have my bleeder valve open but I did open my brake fluid cap up top. I guess I'll bed them to see if it helps. Thanks
