Hey sorry to get back to you so late. I got your PM but I'm not sure how much further I can help you though. I think it's really gonna come down to your budget and your vision of your car.

I mean yes, the staggered look does have that "wow" factor. Let's face it, you don't really see a lot of staggered rims on normal four door daily drivers.

Performance wise, I don't think you'll notice as much of a difference as you would in the looks department.

On a 19x8.5, 245/40 is pretty damn close to stock when comparing diameter size and speedometer difference. The percent difference is about 1.5% for both. I know that the M35/45 Sport rims come with this tire size stock. Its pretty cushy and provides nice support.

Personally for looks I'd go 245/35 though, especially if you lower your car. The difference in diameter and speedometer is still really low, around 2.1/2.2%. And it'll give you that nice low profile, aftermarket look.

If you don't lower your car, the slightly taller sidewall of the 245/40 might look better though. It might help to fill in the wheel gap from your fenders to your tire better. I'd check out the pics in the sedan forum a little bit more to get a better idea on what each tire size will look like.

thanks man.

since you went with 19x8.5 +38 on the Varianza (same lip and almost same offset at me for VS-XX 8.5 +42), do your front 245/40 tires rub at all?

Nope, not at all. I have about a finger gap in the front with no camber kit though, so the setup might be different then yours.

I did have one issue with rubbing in the front before. I used to run a 19x8.5 +35 offset with the 245/40 tires and there was only one area during my previous work commute where the front would rub. It involved a dip in the road during a turn while going over 50 mph. Other then that one specific location, even with +35 offset, the tires did not rub in the front or back.

Basically, I was supposed to order the rims (still in stock) yesterday but well these sizes are worrying me - the large ones. Yes, I'd love to go staggered but not at the risk of rubbing or rolling fenders. I've never rolled them nor do I want to risk messing up my car doing so. The very few local shops here rip you off to roll fenders (upwards of $100).

So I need to decide in the next two days from these:

1. 19x 8.0 +38 Adisk and 19 x 9.5 +42 Odisk (245/40 and 275/35)
conclusion: most unlikely choice since I can run larger width front

2. 19 x 8.5 +42 Odisk front and rear (245/40).
conclusion: good choice to be economical on tires since I can rotate them. I also get a 2.40" lip

3. 19 x 8.5 +42 Odisk and 19 x 9.5 +42 Odisk (245/40 and 275/35)
conclusion: I want this but worried about rubbing the rears since I dont want to roll fenders but I am on stock suspension and no plans of lowering.

One final reason im worried about the 9.5's is because wheelmaster site said this:

Suspension: Package is 27 mm (1.1'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Make sure that you have enough room for that. If not, consider lower offset, narrower tires or using spacers.

I know im a dunce with wheels so im also worried the new wheels might touch brakes/suspension.




nice 9.5 +42 will stick outside the fender

I think that the 9.5 +42 offsets will look funny. Yeah staggered rims are hot but we have a sedan and the rear fenders are not bulky like the coupes. Therefore if you get the 9.5 it will stick outside of the rear fenders and it will look funny in my opinion. Will aka Wiz2 on here has his staggered with 9.5 in the rear. I met up with him before and I thought the rear wheel stuck out too far.

Just an FYI, but it's been noted before that the wheel fitment guide listed above is only valid when the rim is at zero camber. Since our cars come with some negative camber already dialed in, you will get slightly more clearance then that graph would indicate.

That being said, I've never actually seen a G sedan with staggered wheels in person. I've only seen them in pictures here on the forum. So I can't give you my opinion on if or even how much they will stick out past the fenders. From the pics I saw of 19x9.5 +45 on the rear, the rims look good and did not look awkward, and thats only a difference of 3mm.

Personally I would go with choice #2. Staggered set-ups just don't look that dramatic on the sedan. And like you said, you can rotate your tires and get more life from them. The +42 offset will be fine, no worries about rubbing anything. I'm running the same size wheel/tire set-up with a +38 offset and it's right up against the fender.

Well I slept on it and infact measured the rear wheels/fenders today.

Fronts are no issue. I measured the rears with stock wheels and have a mere 2 inches gap. Going with the 9.5's will reduce this game to 0.7 and that means rubbing or rolling.

Hence its set - im going for the 8.5 deep lip +42 - no staggered.

Should I get 245/40 or 245/35 so I can lower it later?

245/40 would look better and it will give you a bit more sidewall. There will be no issues if you decide to lower.

guys i just found out from the supplier that the VSXX lip is not chrome but

Outer LIP = anodized , chrome is not available for VS.
Polished and anodized. (standard rim finish)
Please check if it is ok with him

does this mean it will be shiny like the wheel here:

I'm kinda confused. The lip ONLY comes anodized? Polished should be shiny.

its polished and then anodized, standard practice for most multipiece polished wheels
