Kics Wheel Spacers Question

I just ordered Kics wheel spacers (15mm & 20mm). The company taht I bought them from said they did not need Hub Centric Rings. Is this true? Just wondering before I install them next week. Any info would be great.

Dave

Are you sure? Most places that sell them show rings as options? What's the purpose anyways.

I definately recommend getting hub centric spacers because they make sure the rim and spacer sit at the exact center of the hub. - thus making sure nothing is out of balance.
From doing my research when I put my 10mm spacers on, someone said the weight rests on the "ring" and all the lug nuts do is stop the wheel from moving side to side. Not sure how accurate it is, but it made sense to me.

Project Kics spacers are not hubcentric. You can buy their aluminum hub ring to make them hubcentric though.

Its not absolutely needed but it is recommended to use their hub rings.

They did not come with the rings. I installed them as is. I hand tightened all nuts in a start pattern untill al where seated. Then step torqued each one in the same pattern. I have done up to 120 with vibrations at all. They should be all set.

Thanx guys,

Dave

get the rings, hubcentric rings contribute to the loading of the wheel onto the hub

they bolt onto the stock studs, but the hubcentric rings are recommended for added safety

Hub-centric rings ensure that the wheels are perfectly centered on the vehicle’s hub. These rings do not offer any increase in safety, nor do they affect structural integrity, but they do assist in providing a vibration-free ride. The hub-centric ring kits that we offer are made of the highest-grade materials and are included with your wheel purchase at no additional cost.
