Cudos to ducati for his explanation. I'd dare say that many drivers on this forum will actually need sway bars, bigger tires, better suspension for the reason they are made. A lot of people say "Hey, what can I do to my car to make it better" A better way to look at it is "Does my car really NEED this mod?" As far as the quality of the sways being discussed on this thread, cusco, nismo, etc... their all going to be better than stock - just remember what was saud before by ducati.

 

Actually, stiff sway bars can transmit a some roughness into the car's suspension. The way they work is that when the car turns and leans out, the compressing shocks apply a twisting tension on the sway bar, which transmits that force to the opposite shock, causing it to compress some as well, which helps level out the car. Now, if you go through a parking lot and run over a speed bump on just one wheel... the sway bar is going to apply some of that force to the opposite shock. I think it's a much less dramatic difference than stiffer shocks or springs, though.

Performance Nissan Parts told me today that the Nismo's are about 15-17% stiffer than OEM. I figured it would be a little more, but conclude that I would not want to be much higher than 30-35%. Anybody else verify the 15-17% for Nismo?

 

How much should I expect to pay for installation fee to get the swaybar put on?
I want to get avg. install price so that I don't get ripped off.
