Who has SOLVED the problem? 6k & tires rumble loud under 45mph

I did a quick search and did not find any conclusion for this issue, so bear with me.

So, my wife turned about 6,500 miles the other day and the front tires have become unbearable. They literally ROAR from 0-45mph. Its a hard rumble sound. The only applicable modification is that its dropped on Tein S springs. It was aligned about 1 week after the install. The springs went on at about 1500miles. I took a look at the front tires and they appear to be wearing well.

Do these tires just suck this bad? Or is it something else?

I vaguely remember years ago when there was a feathering issue with the Zs and G35s. I dont remember the details though. Is this something along those lines?

Thanks.

Ok, so not a single response in a couple weeks. I've gone through numerous threads with many stating folks got rear camber kits. Thats fine and dandy, but the fronts are the problem.

Till now, I didnt realize road noise = feathering = bad camber. Typically uneven wear = bad camber. Visually the tires look fine. STRANGE!

Regardless, is there even a place to get a front kit? I really dont want to drop the bills to get new upper arms. That seems like over kill.

My wife had only 6k on hers and they were louder then hell. Right now shes at about 7500 and I dont think we can take it any more.

If its a camber issue, then I want to hear from folks who have actually FIXED the problem. We cant afford to throw front tires on this thing ever few months. I also dont want to spend an assload buying a front camber kit if its not the cause for the roaring.

Anyone resolve this issue?

Tires are only tested to 8,000 miles to specify parameters, the life is extrapolated from that wear.

Directional tires that cannot be cross rotated to reverse scrub the heel/toe feathering of blocks or worse different sizes fore and aft.

Next time select non directional 4 equal sized tires like Michelin PS2 or others if noise concerns you and be sure to rotate every 3,000 miles.

I dont think equal sizes are recommended for this car. Doesnt that throw off the VDC? Regardless, thats silly. They just plain shouldnt roar this quickly up front.

3 Questions:

1) For people saying camber is the issue... do they sell camber kits where I dont have to change out the arm? And did this actually FIX the problem?

2) For those with a smilar drop - how long do your tires last?

3) For the best longevity (low noise over time) what tires have been proven to last?

All Coupes have a front tire road noise scenario. It goes with the territory and can only be adjusted somewhat with a non aggressive patterned tire. Non directional is the way I went and resumed back to the original RSAs which are alot quieter than the replacement Avon 550 A/S. Having to dismount, flip, and rotate the front tires every 3,000 miles is rediculous but will help get the most life out of the front tires. Sedans don't have this problem. There is not much that can be done. I have not been in a coupe yet that doesn't have some road noise due to the negative camber and toe specs. Good luck.

The stockers are directional right? I dont believe the front right can be moved to the front left.

With directional tires all one can do is demount and flip the tires on wheels the rotate or replace the tires frequently.

These types of problems first showed up in the early 90's on sporty cars, goes with the territory.

i got warranty on my first set of tires after 6000 miles because of the growl i heard. the new tires were good for a few months then the growl came back. i think pretty much any tires develop the rumble on the g35 due to the aggressive alignment. nothing you can do but go with a non directional tire and rotate or a less agressive tread pattern.

I get mixed responses from every post, and every person I talk to.

One person says, live with it, there isnt anything you can do. The next says, I need different tires, and this is just something the stocks do. Another says to replace the A-arms and get it realigned.

Im not dropping a dime, until I can figure out what actually FIXES the problem.

Just proves that there is no easy cheap fix, if there was, everyone would be singing the same tune.

Funny how the most expensive fixes rarely get applied.

Cheap isnt necessarily the most important thing here. I just want a "sure" fix. Just yeseterday I had 3 more people tell me to do completely different things to solve issue. I give up. I guess Im throwing tires at this thing ever 6k. What a fricken waste.
