How's Nitto NT555
Hi,
Couple of my friends recommend me to use NT555 because of the price. I wonder does anyone have experience with this tire? How does it compare to S03 or pilot sport? I got the price quote of 235/40/18 for each $160 installed. what do you guy think?

Re: How's Nitto NT555
I am running the 555's in a 245/35/19's up front and 275/30/19's in the rear. I've had these particualr series of tires on my e36 bmw m3 and my b6 audi a4. In my opinion they are just a good tire at a good price. Good tread pattern and good tread wear rating ( i believe its 300). Not as sticky as the pilots or so-3's, but its plenty to get u around daily and pretty decent on the track.

Re: How's Nitto NT555
I used to roll with NT-450s on my old ride. I agree that the tread pattern for Nitto tires are some of the best out there...not to mention many compliments that I received by other drivers. And they are priced well too. However, I wasn't impressed with the dealer that I went through to have the tires installed (Auto Addictions). I barely had 5k miles on 'em when a nail popped one of 'em. Because of the location of the nail, I couldn't have the tire plugged. So, I ask (the dealer) to make good on the tire warranty and to have the cost pro-rated. They told me that I would have to pay full price up front and that they would submit the tire to the manufacturer for "review". Never heard back from them.

Re: How's Nitto NT555
I agree with half of Bill's comments. On MY G, the Nittos are quiet & smooth riding. However, he's VERY accurate in describing their handling while cold. We just had a cold snap here & the car handles totally different. In fact, I was tempted to adjust the rear sway bar for MORE understeer to try & compensate. Fortunately it doesn't stay below 50 in Louisiana for long so I'm just having fun doing the drifting thing!! I've had Pilot Sports ( GREAT tire but pricey ) & Dunlops ( ditto ) but the Nitto is, IMHO, an excellent all-around tire for the money.
