17" rims with Brembos question, pls help

Quick question, will 17" rims fit on the front of the G35 that has the Brembo brake package?? Any comments, suggestions, or answers will be greatly appreciated!

From what I've read, some will and some won't. Perhaps someone has the rims in question if you post as to type. Otherwise you'll have to test fit them. Good luck.

Re: 17" rims with Brembos question, pls help

The computers at Dictount tire Co. and most wheels/tire stores give information about the car and what sizes can and cannot fit. At a recent visit to discount tire co I found out that the coupe's brembo's can not fit wheels smaller than 18's. But there might be an exception with the proper spacers and offset.

Re: 17" rims with Brembos question, pls help

Currently the rims that I have fit when my Z had the Brembo brake package. The Brembo package had a 13" rotor with a 6 piston caliper, but looking at some pics of the Brembos on a G35, their Brembos look a lot thicker giving me doubts. Hopefully they fit b/c I love the rims I have right now, and I want to have these rims on my G35 when it comes in.

The factory Brembo's are 4 pot fronts and 2 rear. Should be smaller than a 6 pot setup.

Yes, I test fitted the 17s off of my wifes coupe on my Track 350Z and they fit fine.

from my understanding, although you may never notice it if you keep your vdc off. running 17's on your coupe no matter how well they clear the bembos you will run into problems with the VDC speedometer and odometer. dont quote me on that but if i am correct, it might be a little dangerous driving around with your vdc on.

I don't see why that would be as long as you sized the tires right so that the overall tire diameter would stay the same. In other words, make sure you use 225/50/17 front and 235/50/17 rear.

Marcel, Just make sure your replacement diameter is the same (or very close) to the stock wheel diameters, and your VDC, speedo, and odo will function normally. Driving with VDC off could prove costly. Just ask Pestilence.
If you need to check diameters have a look at:

Re: 17" rims with Brembos question, pls help

the standard 17" tires on the 5AT have similar rolling diameters to the optional 18" tire-wheel package (standard on 6MT)

Re: 17" rims with Brembos question, pls help

Well,

IT FITS!! Man, with only about less than 1cm of space for the caliper and the rim spoke. I'll upload pics later tonight.

It looks really nice, but looks like the G35cs needs rims bigger than 18" to make it look even better. Plus it needs to be lowered about 1.5" to make the wheel well not as big.
