New tires installed on OEM 19", rear looks odd

I just had new tires installed about a week ago and I notice that my rears looks crooked or at an angle. I'm new to this whole tire stuff so I'm not sure if this normal, I did get larger tires in the back (255/40/19) on the OEM 19".

Sorry for the poor picture, it was taken with a camera phone...should I take the car back and have it fixed? Can it be fixed?

Yeah it does look a little odd, it's either the really deep grooves, or the bottom of the grooves are painted gloss black.

I just looked at my buddies 350z and it looks like his pattern is similar, the rears are at a slight angle and his is stock size...so I guess it's normal?

it looks like negative camber... you might want to get an alignment

It won't mess up your car; it'll actually be more planted on spirited runs. However, if you care about your tires wearing anywhere close to evenly, get an alignment.

Oh yea, and the pic's not bad, but give us a shot of the whole rear of the car so we can have some relative frame of reference. I can't tell if you just turned the camera, or if it's 100% level.

+1, it seems the larger width made your camber get messed up. U need to get a camber kit and get an alignment asap.

Once again, negative camber can be a very good thing, depending on your use of the car. Canyon/road race driving, it's great. Drag racing, you want the tires perfectly flat on the ground.

The issue with running lots of negative camber is the increased inside tire wear.

I was just told from a friend who works at Discount Tire that if I were to do an alignment I would probably get another 5k miles out of tread life but the stock negative camber won't damage anything with the setup I have on now except wear the inside tread more. Like UnluckyCharms said, unless I care about the treadwear being even, I should get an alignment.

I am fine with the negative camber as long as my car doesn't get damaged. I'm learning so much about tires, thanks for everyone's input!

Yes, the car is completely stock...sadly. But yep, stock height and OEM 19" with 245/35/19 Front and 255/40/19 Rear.

New rubber and alignment......?

Very Strange, the first pic tire looks different than the other pic. Have your
alignment checked, it will save you money in the long run! Great looking
rubber!

It's the quality of the camera phone, it's the same tire I swear

When you say save money in the long run, are we referring to replacement of tires? Or is something bad going to happen to my car?

Tires. It's a tad aggressive, but nothing that'll do your car harm, looking at the pics.

The first pic (of the new pics) makes it look worse than it is due to the fenderline, but you're fine.
