quesion abt tires..(noob)

ok im looking rims and tires
i duno whtz the meaning of the tires
for example...
i duno whtz
20x9.5 <- i kno that

285/25/20...<- duno this
i duno wht these numbers are stand for...
can someone kindly explain to me??

285/25/20 is the tire size. The first number "285" is the width in centimeters of the tire. The second number is a percentage of the width. So the sidewall height is 25% of the width. The last number is the size in inches of the tire.

that would be milimeters there GP... and i'm not completely sure of the percentage being the 2nd number, but if it is, then that's new to me..

haha, sorry, you're correct, its millimeter's, i was typing before i was thinking. I'm positive that the sidewall height is the percentage of the width of the tire... i've been doing tires for the last 3+ years and i'm currently the fastest tire changer in the west

don't you mean millimeters instead of centimeters

One correction - the last number (i.e. the 20 in the example above) is not the size in inches of the tire, it is the diameter of the wheel/rim in inches.
