TPMS question when upgrading rims

If you have the stock 17's and you upgraded to the stock 19's, do you have to buy the TPMS? tire pressure monitor sensors? or can i use the ones that came with the car for my 17's?

You can use the ones that came on the 17's. You might have to go to the dealer to get it reprogrammed, but that's no big deal.

I'm missing something .. why do the TPMS need to be re-programmed when all he's doing is just transferring the sensors from the old set of rims to the new rims?

thx

Just keep the TPMS in proper order to the new wheels and they won't need to be reprogrammed. ie. right front to right front, right rear to right rear.

On alldata it really doesn't say which wheel it needs to be put on. I think you can mix match them. Correct me if im wrong, but tell me why.

I rotated my stock rims and the sensors still worked great, did not have to re-calibrate.

They are part of the valve stem. Look at the valve stem on the inside of the rim and you will see the black boxes, unless you have an 03 sedan. TPMS wasn't available in 03.
