It will throw VDC and TCS off. The 245/40/18 is OK in front, but keep 245/45/18 in back.

Comment: For winter (snow) driving you want to keep narrower tires on the vehicle than you do in the summer. So 225/45/18 might be a better choice for the snow, but I know that 225/45/18 might be a hard size to find, so, as I said, 245/40/18 would be OK because it would fit fine on your wheel and is the same diameter as the 225/45/18.

so will it throw the vds and tcs off?? i found a set of 225/45/18 all around but someone said the same about that. so i passed on it. im thinking the 245/40 should be ok since its closer to 245/45

Mike you should have purchased the 225s, the 245/40/18s are worse. The 225s are much closer to your stock size than the 245/40/18, which are 1" different in Outside diameter than your OEM size or 3.6% out. The 225/45/18 tires were 2.7% out from your OEM rear tires.
