Re: KONIG Wheels?

I recently bought a set (see my profile for details if interested). As far as quality, they seem decent...I don't know if they bend easily, but if I run over a huge pothole, I'll be sure to report on the status. As far as being "cheap", they are relatively affordable. In my case, I was looking for a set of wheels for my snow tires. Sooo, I didn't want to drop too much $$$ on wheels. Overall, I think that they are good wheels.

No offense taken, fXg35rIdA. It's all good. I wish I could afford the nicer wheels that some members have (i.e. Volks, NISMO), but for me, the Konigs offered what I wanted.

D@mn! You must've hit "the pothole". I've had the tire sidewall show damage...the malformation/bulge, but never experienced a damaged rim. Plus, I imagine you were riding on really low profile tires (35 series or less).

Re: KONIG Wheels?

i was going about 55, and my tires were nitto555s, they were 45s, i think i just hit it perfect on the edge of the pothole, it didnt damage the tire at all.

Re: KONIG Wheels?

Hmm....interesting....I was riding on Nitto 450s (225/50 - 16s) and hit a pothole and then the bulge/malformation appeared. I liked Nitto tires initially, but then I realized why they cost considerably less than Michelins.

Re: KONIG Wheels?

they are affordable rims, but not very good in quality. i had konig monsoons(copy of volk racing) as my first set of wheels on previous ride long time ago. they were wrapped on 205/40z17 tires, and two of them got cracked over potholes. then, i had two other set of wheels on higher profile tires, but they also got bent but at least not cracked. i've decided never to look for 'affordable' rims, but if you do so, try to get tires with strong side wall or remember to avoid every potholes on street.

Re: KONIG Wheels?

Thanks guys. I guess I'll be staying away from the KONIGS. tig488, I like the look of the TE37's. They are sharp. I was considering those. Do you think they would look good on a Brillant Silver Sedan? Do they come in silver? Is the lettering on the wheel an option? I notice a lot of Coupe owners have the Volks. They must be good?

thanks, they do have silver te37s and i think they would look good on a silver sedan, i dont think the lettering is an option but you can always remove it.
