Well i've got about 5k on my 452s. However, i'm still having the same problems as day 1.

The tires seem to glide a bit. Like i don't really have a good feeling that it's sitting squat when i'm on the highway, or taking off. Feels like i'm one wind gust from bringing the back end around... Tires also seem to bounce a bit on the smallest road imperfection. Got it all around 32 PSI, 18in oem, coupe.

Bought them after the rave reviews. They are quiet for sure, but just do not seem anywhere near as grippy as the michelins. Did I just get a bum set/install? Any ideas?

 

I was just thinking about getting the same set of tires. Are they really that bad? What sizes are you running?

 

Michelin pilot PS2's are arguably one of the best tires out there, so most other tires are not going to be up to par IMO, especially if you are using them in the OEM sizes. Many of the "rave reviews" you've seen are for people who are upgrading to aftermarket wheels with wider widths. Obviously this is going to effect their performance compared to OEM, which is why you are disappointed with their performance. Very few people run the michelin ps2's on aftermarket wheels in those wide widths because they are VERY expensive, hence why the number of direct comparisions between the 452's and PS2's are not very common.

redlude97 do you think that the Falken 452s perform better than toyo t1r's

and do you think it would be fine if i had toyo t1r's in the front and 452s on the rear

stock 19's 245/40/19 front and rear

I was actually looking into purchasing 452's soon to replace my t1r...

 

ive used 3 sets of T1Rs and a set of the T1Ss back in the day...saw the 452s and wanted to try to them...anyone have any input? great thread

 

Thats hard to say because I haven't used either, but from what I've gathered based on people's reviews, they should perform similarly. A better question is why are you running the wrong sized tire in the front?

 

I have tried both and found the T1R's to be a little better performing but no where near as nice for a daily driver. The 452's seem to be more of a VIP tire. They worked well for my DD and still had ton's of grip for mountain runs. (FYI - 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 were my sizes)

as for your question... mainly because i wanted to be able to rotate them...

 

falken 451's, i'll be moving to the 452's when these wear out if that makes a difference, I'm on my 3rd set of falkens and they've always served me well

 

im on 245/35/20 fk452's.

had em for about 3 months now i think.

i havent had any problems at all. even in the below freezing temps here in NYC. i even drove with them in an inch of snow a couple times. slid a little til i hit the snow button.

i got these after toyo proxes4 18s from my previous rims. those gripped really well but the sidewalls were way too soft.

i def recommend the fk452's. great for the money.
