ok. you CANT find oem paint. try a silver/tan paint, and touch it up maybe..
i used... 1 can of primer (1 coat per rim) 1.5 cans of paint (3 coats each) and 1 can of clear.. (2 coats each.)

what kind of paint is this.. I'm very interested and ready to do this project. Can someone post up some exact materials they use so the rest of us can identify? IE brand number whatever. thanks a lot

I just got some cans of clear coat at home depot. As express705 said, any clear coat at home depot will work.
I found rust-o-leum clear coat. . .it's good on metal, although you'll be coating "paint" not metal. I'd post to a bunch of wheel painting DIY's, but we want to support the G community with our own. express! Cleared to DIY, please expedite release!

I have one quick question before you write it up. Will it be more difficult if I wanted to make the rims a really deep glossy black color, or will it basically be the same process except with a different color paint?
