Seems like these vredestein ultrac tires are getting better review than the falken fk452. I am debating on which brand to go with for my rears 275/30/20. Which brand has better tread life? Thanks.

the sessantas have a tread rating on 280 and the falkens 300 in the size you are looking for. Since they are so close, your driving habits will determine how long they last as well as how much camber you are running. They should last you about the same. at this point is more preference of which one you want. The sessanta however, does get better reviews in wet handling over the falken.

No comparison between those 2 tires. The vred walks all over the Falken. These are the best tire for the price in the market hands down.

just got the fronts mounted today. I weighed both tires separately twice and both came to 28.6 lbs the size is 245/40-19. They also do seem narrower as some people here have mentioned, at least they look slightly narrower on the rim copared to the same size tire i had on, the BFG KDWs

I have these and I love em. Used to have BFG KDW 2s before and the vreds are sooo much more quiet and grip just as well. Great tire !

I just put on my 2nd set of the Sessantas today. After my stock Bridgestone's lasted 25,000 miles, I opted to go to Performance Plus in Long Beach (almost 2 years ago) to give these tires a go.

They were hands down better than the Bridgestones in every aspect and for the price, there was no doubt that I was going to continue to get these tires.

My first set of Sessantas lasted 32,000 miles, and probably could have lasted another 5k if I hadn't just picked up a nail in my right-rear the other day.

A very good portion of these 32,000 miles were highway and most recently were used on long stretches to/from San Jose to Los Angeles , usually cruising about 80mph. I'm not too aggressive on the roads anymore, but on occasion, I will break out into the higher rpms.

Best tires I have ever had.

I just bought a set hopefully they give me at least 35K+ miles.

My last tires (oem Bridgestone Re050A) lasted me 40K miles. However, these were all the same size so I took advantage of rotating them.

The Sessantas I bought are staggered 255/40/19 rear and 245/40/19 front. Hope they live up to the hype

I would have given them a try based on the great reviews, but they do not come in my desireable size combo of 285/30/19 and 305/30/19.

Vreds are bad on snow and ice.

I'm fairly certain the lack of grip on painted markers is the tire's rather unique contact patch. Most street tires have grooving running laterally across the tread for water evacuation. The Sessanta looks to evacuate water in line with the tread rather than out the sides. The tread grooves are long enough that there is no trapping water under the tires at the outside blocks as someone expressed concern over.

Anyway, while the consistent contact patch and low angle grooves are great for wet, rough surfaces that give its relatively hard rubber something to bite to, on a truly slick surface the lack of high angle grooves make it a bitch to get any traction.

(i should probably justify why i chimed in. My dad's an engineer with a tire company and i've done a few engineering internships at other tire companies. I'm no expert but i've picked up a little something)
