Paint on my rims is flaking off.
I was washing my car the other day and noticed that there was a layer on my rims that was flaking off. Is it the clearcoat? Layer of paint? What caused this? Will warranty replace my rims for something like this?

the stock wheels should not be flaking did you buy the car new? used? if you got the car new and you never had them refinished and they are not curbed then i would think they would replace or refinish your wheel. if you got it used then i am sure that it has been refinished and you r **** out of luck. you will have to get it refinished i just looked at a guy on here that got his done for 100bucks and it looked good. they came out to him in a van.;

Looks like it was repainted. Here in philly there are many shops that refinish the wheels... charge is about 50-120 depending on where you go. I went to lyons for getting my wheels fixed.... <http://www.lyonsdetailing.com/>. I am sure you can find similar shops or even better on the west coast. Dont go to a body shop... look for a specialized wheel shop.
Call your dealer and they would know for sure. Most of the time they use same shops but charge a permium for their services.
