Wheels similar to VSXX
What wheels out there are similar to the VSXX? I am looking for wheels that are similar to that, but hopefully cheaper. I'm thinking of replacing my Sevas S55's since one of them is a little damaged.
well what do you guys consider cheap wheels ? what are cheap wheels according to the all mighty standard ? there's like this huge bandwagon everyone is riding that if you don't have Volks or Works or whatever else that you got yourself a cheap set of wheels....scares the **** outta everyone else on the forum when they wanna buy their wheels... so what is cheap, below $2000 ?? below $1000 ??
RPM 505's are pretty sweet looking and with tires will put you right past $2000 brand new, the Axis Pentas are $2500 with tires....... I must be missing the point here, but I don't think those prices equate to "CHEAP WHEELS"
I think what most of you guys do is simply compare the quality of the wheel to the usual suspects like Volk or Work and obviously none of these other manufacturers have the quality of Volk/Work, so you guys automatically label them "CHEAP". Do you guys really think that Volk wheels that cost $3000 here in the US cost that same amount over in Japan ? over there they probably cost the same price as a set of RPM wheels here...
Seriously you guys come off like big ballers when you call a $2500 set of wheels "CHEAP".... if you were ballers though, wouldn't you be driving $100k + cars where wheels must be at least 5k to be worthy enough to be on the ride.

I actually have to agree with you on that post. If you dont have volk or anything in similar pricing, then your wheels are crap and cheap, even if it costs $2000+. Thats the mentality of some people here.

I have cheap wheels, but i know they are cheap. I got them before I knew anything about forged wheel. However they don't look bad/ugly, they just weight a bit.
Anyway
here's the RPM 505

Axis pentas

you think I said that just for the hell of it? I have a friend who's lived in Japan for 8 years now and he's laughing at the prices we're paying for Japanese wheels over here in North America. You do know that Work and Volk's are heavily imported from Japan right ?
you wouldn't find it funny if you knew the prices they are paying over there.
^^ played out on a g35 forum doesn't equal played out everywhere else. how many times have you seen volks or works on a G outside of meets or members you know from this forum? I have vs-xx and have yet to see another G with these wheels in norcal

thanks for all the comments, and i agree with adon's comments. what are cheap wheels....are they cheap in design? how are u comparing the quality as well?
i have a set of sevas s55's right now, and i wouldn't buy sevas again just because of the quality of the wheels...they suck. paint peels off...and then one of my tires lip is ripping apart....its a mess.

maybe there should be a sticky on what wheels are decent and good enough to buy, arrange it by prices, and quality from low to midrange to high. So instead of downing the dude who didn't buy Volks, lets make a sticky thread for him so he knows at least what wheels to stay the fack away from, so the same shlt doesn't happen to him that happened to you nchaurdia
Obviously the quality of Volk/Work wheels is one of the highest, but not everyone wants to buy these wheels and not everyone can afford them or justify spending upwards of 4 or 5 k on wheels. So basically something along the lines of getting other wheel owners to chime in maybe on the quality of their non work/volk wheels to better inform other buyers that are interested in other sets of wheels. That way like I said at least we would know what brands to stay away from.
