And the above are correct about all gases being affected the same by temperature changes. Just because you put N2 in your tires doesn't mean the Laws of Physics cease to exist.
The water content of the gas in your tire would have more effect than what gas was in it. You would see similar effects if you had "dried" air put in your tires. Yes it does exist for many industrial applications.
It is also true that a pure Nitrogen tire would have more predictable behavior than air. So would any pure gas, it is always easier to calculate/predict the characteristics of a pure gas than a mixture.

lol @ going from 22 to 26...because of Nitrogen
I have driven about 1000 miles in the past month, 80% highway
and have averaged any where from 29 (in some coasting areas) to 27, my overall highway average @ around 75mph was 27.7 mpg...
There was a point where I was at 30.5, but it might have been a stretch of a lot of downhill, so I discounted that reading.
And for all the reasons posted above, unless you drive a space shuttle, N2 is some glorious snake oil.

Yeah, the humidity in the air has more to do with the nitrogen v. air issue than the mpg thing. You do get more consistent temperature change and pressure change with Nitrogen.
After I got my wheels and tires i came back home, jacked the car up, and refilled the tires with our air hose at home with the water seperator inline, for when we paint things. It may have made a difference, it may not have, but i saw that the shop where i got the wheels didn't have the water filter on their line so I just went ahead and did it.
