not apples to apples if you're running wider tires.

With same width tires, the RE050A will run circles around the T1Rs.

Quoted for emphasis.

Imagine if you could get RE070s in 275s.... Course everyone's be burning through em in 4000 miles... but that'd be a DAMN good 4000 miles...

And of course... new rims = 4 new tires.... all w/ in 26K
So these Toyo's are going to last 22K miles...great...I guess

A friend of mine had those and Toyos before on his GTI and GTO, he told me the performance of the Toyos are better.
Why could you not cross rotate them?\

Toyo T1R and Price = FTW

Regardless of my previous posts, the Toyo's are the best value on the market.

OCG35, please post your review of the Toyo's as a counterpoint. What brand are you replacing?

replacing Kumho ecsta asx... only replacing because I have new wheels (upsizing)... The Kumhos were real good in the beginning - but now they dont seem to grip as well in the rear (and there's still plenty of tread).

I've been looking forward to the Toyos, but now I'm concerned that they are going to be mush on hard cornering

I'll post review after I install and running on 'em for a couple weeks...

I just dialed my D-Specs down another full turn (firmer) to compensate. This setting would be bone jarring on the Bridgestones but seems to really help with the Toyo's. It's been about 600 miles (yeah, I drive a lot) and I'm starting to get used to them.

Getting those D-Specs was the best decision I have ever made.

i never said i would cross rotate them. Rotating side to side means taking the RR tire off of the rim and putting it on LR rim, RL tire off of the rim and putting it on RR rim, RF tire off of the rim and putting it on LF rim and LF tire off of the rim and putting it on RF rim.
Reason: Much more life from ur tires.

^^^In other words, you are flipping the tires. That's what I just did. After about 13,000 miles, my inner tread was pretty worn on my fronts. The rears are in good shape though. So I had them flipped. The fronts should last a couple thousand more miles and the rears longer than that.

You said can't rotate them from side to side...I know what cross rotating is...any tire that is staggered and directional you have to cross rotate. What i interpreted from your OP was that you can't rotate them at all once they are mounted or is that what you are trying to say?

I cross rotated my toyos T1R because you can't just rotate them...
