My 1st wheels for the car 4 years ago were 8.5 /9.5 SF challenges that cleared brembos....2 months later I was like and bought spacers.

Exactly 8.5/9.5 widths and 30+ offsets on coupes are circa 2003-2004. The gen pop knows better by now.

I appreciate the advice, that was never the issue. And I like hearing different opinions, which is why I do post on this site. If the response given was "I think those offsets are too large, you should look into a larger width and lower offset" vs. "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard" I would have gladly taken it. Some of us are novices, I hope that is taken into consideration. If I'm going in the wrong direction, I don't mind being told so.

So in conclusion:

Does the Volk TE-37 19x8.5 +29 clear the Brembo brake caliper of the 03 coupe?
YES

Does the look of the car tend to be "sunken in"?
YES

Is this the WORST offset possible for a coupe?
NO (opinions will differ)

Am I happy with my decision for a lightweight, affordable, forged rim?
YES

Will this be my final wheel purchase for the life of the car?
MOST LIKELY NOT

Chill out. Its the internet. We are on a forum. Everyone here prefers the lower offsets so that the tire sits flush with the fender. Those wont. Do what your heart desires and realize this is only the interwebs.

+22 is the offset you should run anything less will be SUPER sunk in.

And I thought this thread was dead.

Apparently, my comments were rather inflammatory since I need to "chill out"

So before the rips start coming. I did put the rims on. Their offsets and width cause the wheels to sit further out than 18" stock. So, I've IMPROVED the stance of my car. I admit, maybe it doesn't look as cool as some of the other cars I've seen (Triple8Sol and SIN3), but it certainly is not as sunken in as people might seem to think. These offsets are 12mm from what is "ideal". That's a little over 4/10 of an inch. Again, not a HUGE difference, but a difference, nonetheless.

Second, I see how people are quick to pick up OEM 19" Rays as an upgrade. Mind you, this is a smaller width rim (8.0/8.5) with high offsets (+30/33) and yet no complains about how these wheels are sunken in and not worth the money. Yet I pick up a set of rims with better width and offsets (which are not great, mind you) for a price very comparable to OEM Ray's and people tell me a made such a bad choice. Double standards, I say.

Finally, I'll put pics up this weekend. I'm happy with my choice, even if people feel differently.

PS - A minor argument could be made for steering and suspension geometry if you wanted.

The reason no one complains really about the OEM 19's is because there is no way to get diff offsets on them. They are OEM.... With aftermarket rims such as yours, you have a CHOICE on what offsets and sizes you can get.

Not a strong argument there.

So by voluntarily choosing to purchase a rim with no offset options, somehow that is a better choice. Sorry, don't see it.

Most people with OEM 19's agree that spacers are needed also, to the tune of 20-25mm. Justify it however you want, your offsets are weak. Thats all there is to it.

Spacers. There's a smart idea. *insert sarcasm*

At least we can agree... all OEM 19's without 20-25mm spacers are WEAK! And anyone with this configuration shouldn't even be allowed to OWN a G35!

And also... everyone has to be nice to me or I'll call my big brother and he'll beat you all up!
