help..ASAP, how wide can i go on stock rears?

so what's the widest one can go on stock 18's on the back without rubbing. Car has .9" drop in the back. I was thinking 265/40/18. Factory size is 245/45/18 for rears.

If you can find a tire that you like that has 265 size go with it! I am running 255/45/18 rear and 245/40/18 front with Falken Azenis. I have a 1.2 drop and have no rubbing at all. You should be fine by a mile with that setup.

You won't rub with 265's on stock wheels.

y'all think tires might be too wide of a tire for the wheel? I mean give it a squishy/squirmy feeling?

will work fine is not the same thing as will work well. A 265 should be installed on a wheel at least 9" in width for optimal handling

18's aren't staggered? so 8" all around? 255's then.
