G35 "Slips Sideways" after tires and alignment
Hi all,
I have this problem on my 2007 G35 after new tires (the Falkans) and a four wheel alignment that as I am driving on the highway the car occasionally like it is slipping sideways... I saw the data from the four wheel alignment and it looked like everything was in spec - any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

i think i experienced that sometimes on some freeways whereby the paving and grid marks of the road surface are uneven very slightly..visually it looks flat but it will somehow kind of "suck" your tires sideways...kinda similar to the situation when u hard braking on certain stretch of bad roads that will cause ur front wheels to steer right or left against ur will..
but it's just my assumptions tho..
dont think there is anything wrong with ur alignment or falken tires

Thanks for the inputs. Let me clarify some points and see what you think...
These tires have at least 500 miles on them now - maybe more and, this is actually my girlfriends 2007 G35 that does it. My 2003 G35, on the same roads doesn't do it.... so I don't think that it is just pavement.....I have relatively new Falkens as well....
Thanks,
Joe

You may find you have slightly more tire "squirm" with tires that have full tread on them versus ones that were badly worn. Squirm may allow a tiny bit of wander at highway speeds. Normally this is something you only notice when moving to something like a snow tires with deep tread and large open blocking.
I'd guess that it has to do with the tires being new, or the tires are directional and installed incorrectly, or alignment was done incorrectly.

it is especially noticed when the road is wet - feels like the rear of the car loses traction for a split second. A nerve wrecking experience
okk well letttt me just post up my experience with this problem. I had recently lowered my car and brought my car to, TWO different shops who said my alignment was dead on accurate. One other shop said my rear toe on one tire was out 2 degrees. which led to the car feeling like the squireliest POS ever, not to mention couldnt go over 35mph if it rained out. It feels like the car is crabwalking. if you are experiencing this your running too much toe or the shop didnt align your car proper. just remember its really easy to print out a bunch of copies with alignment specs within factory spec...im a case and point of that, well at least i got my money back
