Tires just got in

Rear tire

Front tire

Old front left tire:
Note outer edges, even on the tread, is more worn. This is after I adjusted my driving to wear the tires less. Heat stress is also VERY evident.

New Front left tire

Old and new compared:
Facing same way

Mike, what do you think of the new ECSTA XS?
I was reading up on them a little, and they seem to be a great bang for the buck, just as the previous MX's were.
The thread pattern itself tells me how much it would grip in the dry. I'm wondering if they do ok on the rain though. It doesn't rain in SoCal much, but its my DD.
I'm definitely eyeing these XS'.

It's on my list of tires to try. The pricing and size availability just became available last week, so I'll probably give the 225/255 setup a try.
Unfortunately, I want to inch up, and I was planning on getting 245/275 MX's after I try the XS.
I havn't read any reviews on the XS, but the MX had a LOT of lateral grip and progressive breakaway. The only performance concern with the MX was that it has relatively soft sidewalls, but that smooths out your ride for daily driving.
The XS is supposed to be the MX replacement, so I have some pretty high expectations for it.
