Need Opinions on Painting Rims :)
In order to help me not look like a ricer... I need you guy's expert opinions.
A close friend of mine is starting up a new business, he asked for my help, and being the friends we are I agreed to let him do some painting on my car.
It's not actually a painting process, but he dips the parts in a liquid vat with whatever design you want "floating" on the surface. I opted for a solid color, nothing flashy, and that he could dip my rims.
My theme is DG and custom House of Kolors purple. He said he can match the color pretty much dead on that I've had sprayed on my intercooling piping and plenum previously in Houston.
Should I get the chrome lip in purple, or the spokes done in purple? I've seen rims both ways and it always looks sick... but I just can't picture this too well on my car, so I'm asking for help!
Here is a picture of the purple color that he would use, and a picture of the rims he'd be dipping.
Thanks!
RIMS

RIMS AGAIN

PURPLE COLOR (as you can see it's a very deep purple, in bright sunlight it gets a touch of blue tint to it- in dark lighting it goes nearly black).

And here is another set of rims my friend dipped for himself on his white 240:

So the image on the rims above was floating on the surface of the water, so when he brought the wheel up through it it left the pattern on there. Very cool stuff!
Lemme know what'cha think guys!!!!

id go purple lip so its a subtle accent that will go with the intercooler. my friend used to have his car painted in that same house of kolors purple, i think its called burple, and its a sick paint color.

I would never paint rims....again! With powder coating available and the
cool colors they have, plus once it's done you NEVER need to touch up.
You could do the barrel and leave the lip polished, there's "endless possibilities!"
They can add a little color to clear so you can see the polished area below
yes, Powder coat....

). I think I'll add a clear coat to help...
so it's not a powder coating process. Good info though, thanks!
