For the front, 235/35 will read about 2.3% too fast as compared to the 245/35 being only 1.3% faster than the OEM size.

For the rear, 255/35 will read about 2.6% too fast as compared to the 255/40 being 1.2% slower than the OEM size.

Nothing wrong with General Exclaim for a DD tire. There are other inexpensive options for our cars too. Check out Vredestein Sessenta, Kumho Ecsta, Falken FK452 tires too.

ok, i understand all of that. with the fr. 245/35 and rr 255/40 the front is 4mm shorter and the rear is 4mm taller than stock. with the fr 235/35 and the rr 255/35 both are 8mm shorter than stock. i dont mind a 2% error in my speedo. wouldnt it be better to keep it proportional with stock rather than go opposite directions?

i have checked into the 452s and spts but i prefer the exclaims because of their 380 treadwear rating and low price, in addition to more biting surfaces in case i do encounter some light snow

i understand most people get the 245/35 for the front and the 255/40s for the rear, but no one has given any reasons why the 235/35 and 255/35s wont work fine. unless that is too short of a sidewall

Mike, more surface in snow isn't a good thing. Wider tires distribute the pressure over a larger surface and will actually hinder traction. Now, we are talking about a 10mm difference so it's very subtle in this case.

The only thing I can say is that I have the 245/35 fr and 255/40 rr and I have no issues with my VDC. I really don't think you will have issues with the setup you are interested in.

honestly, neither will be good in the snow! RWD + ~250 RWH/TQ =

I just go slow. I made it through our winter on the OEM Potenzas. I didn't drive in the ice and went SLOW when it was snowy outside. Just keep your VDC on and be careful. I've been looking for an el cheapo set of 17's or 18's to put some snow shoes on.

Wichita, cool. I've been there a few times, I'm in the aerospace industry and we're doing some work for one of the larger aero companies in Wichita now.

well, im moving to salt lake city in feb so i will see plenty of snow. of course, im from nebraska so im used to driving in snow and ice. my first car was rear wheel drive. so honestly, i think i would be just fine in winters with either of those. its all about only driving when completely necessary, very defensive, and slow

but i have a couple options, i have a 4wheel drive truck i could use in the winter or i could get another set of wheels like you plan and get some blazziks for the winter. ive heard those are incredible in snow and ice but dont last long when its dry

for some reason i just cant decide between the two
