Re: Touch Up Stock Wheels?

That doesn't work for the coupe if the scratch is too big. The color is just too different.

I agree. It's not even close. Way too dark.

Re: Touch Up Stock Wheels?

I discovered rashes on all 7 spokes (probably done in one motion) of my driver-side front 18" stock wheels today. I can't recall ever going near a curb on that side (I wonder if it was done at a dealer service last week).
Anyway, would the cost of fixing the rashes exceed the cost of a new stock 18" wheel? If I leave it as is, will there be any problems other than it looking bad?
Thanks.

Re: Touch Up Stock Wheels?

Eventually it will corrode.

You can "fix" it with a somewhat similar paint color for about $100-$150 professionally, or buy a new one on ebay for around $250.

Re: Touch Up Stock Wheels?

Is fixing it professionally a good solution? If the color is off by a little I won't mind. I just don't want any corrosion or things like that.
Thanks.

Re: Touch Up Stock Wheels?

Corrosion will take years. Plus, I doubt most people would even recognize corrosion on aluminum. But yeah, a professional job will get it darn close. But you will be able to tell if you look closely.

Doesn't it make you sick to your stomach looking at it? Spend the $150 for your eyes if it's that bad!

Yeah, it's worse than I thought when I saw it yesturday. I think at 3 of the rashes the paint has been ground off! I'll definitely look into getting it "fixed".
