Hmmm something to think about before buying wheels
Well I guess we all know by now that the 05 G is coming with stock 19's. So do you guys think that 19 inch aftermarket wheels will be a thing of the past for the G? Everyone tends to go up a size when they buy aftermarket wheels for there car.It would be like buying 18's for our cars now. No one does it. Just something to think about before ordering wheels.

I think 19's will be standard in all cars in our class soon. I see your point though, and yes I think it would be kind of weird replacing OEM rims with the after rims of the same size.
BTW. Is that your bike? What is the purpose of having huggers?

Re: Hmmm something to think about before buying wheels
I replaced my stock 18s with Nismo 18s. Wider wheels, wider tires = better handling. They are also lighter, and IMO, look better. Again, IMO, 19s are too big, rough riding, and fragile for an automobile of our size. I'm very interested in what factory 19s will look like, and what size they will be.

The 19" are only available, from what I have heard, on the 6MT model with Brembos.
Here is what was said:
"The G35 coupe will be offered in three models for 2005, Coupe, Coupe Sport A/T and Coupe Sport 6MT. Both Sport models include a new sport-tuned suspension, Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (V-LSD), 19-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. "

15 more horsepower and a brand new dash. So awesome.

I couldn't agree more with Lou. The 2005 is going to need that extra 15 HP with those larger wheels on it, even if they are lighter. Same weight farther from the axis makes the G a slow boy.
After I'm done with my air mods, wheels are next and it will be a 19 pound 18" wheel for sure. We'll see how wide I go after all my mods are done to evaluate what kind of torque I have available to kick that rear end out.
Many people think "what looks good" is "what performs good". Many don't. Diversity is a great thing in the car world!

Re: Hmmm something to think about before buying wheels
People will still buy wheels even if the 05 coupe will have 19" stock. Usually most people do not like stock wheels enough and want to give their vehicle a unique look to stand out from the rest.

I remember the first set of "plus size" wheels I ever installed.......
They were 16" and they were huge! LOL
This "band-aid" size tire thing is getting rediculous.
I think 18" are perfect blend of looks and ride quality.
