19 inch on my 03' sedan.. need some help please

i just bought my uncles 03 sedan off of him after totaling my bmw e46 i like the car a lot and it has 19" after maket rims with wider tires in the rear... im not sure the exact size but they stick out past the fender. when i have people in the back and i go over a hump on the freeway or anywhere it bounces and hits the fender. the car is not dropped it just has 19" rims. what can i do to avoid the scraping.. thinner tires? stiffer springs? etc..

let me know what i should do. how it will improve. and how much it will usually cost.. after buying this car i cant really afford much more right now between school and work.

thanks in advance

i honestly dont see how it rubs youve got well from what it looks like 2 to 3 inchs of clearence, maybe just run thinner tires, but those already look thin.

the shocks are bouncy over bumps so when it comes down it hits the edge of the fender.. im not sure if that means i need better shocks?

it is a mile hi, you shouldn't be rubbing, you may need new shocks...

The rears definitely appear to be sticking way out, maybe they are totally wrong offsets that someone threw on there without knowing any better. You should find out the make/model of wheel, determine the offset and figure out if they're even meant to fit this car. You may have to learn what 'offset' is, look it up for your wheels, or determine it yourself through measurements. That's your homework. After that, I'm sure peeps on here will be glad to help you.

i agree, based on that pic, you are ridin up in the clouds. maybe you had the equivalent of 3 really fat people in the back. looks like you have to look at the shocks.

the tires in the back are 275/35/19

i found out there are some spacers in the shocks in the rear so im gonna try and raise those a bit.. or maybe it need another spacer.. at least i think they are spacers. i was never really into wheels and tires when i had my bmw

That tire size is pretty common I believe.

Spacers in the shocks??? OK I'm no suspension wizard but I have no idea what you're talking about. Perhaps you'd make your point better with pictures and / or a better description haha.

275/35 is a common size for the sedan as long as you have the proper offsets on your rims. i'm running a 285 in the back.

same here spacers on your shocks? maybe you just have some crappy shocks and have no rebound thats why your bouncing like crazy which is causing the rub in the rear
