Any thoughts on these two tires? I could get either one for nearly the same price. I am daily driver, no winters, pretty aggressive, but no track use.

Go with the PS2s! You will see they are highly recommended on this forum. I've had mine for 8 months and love them. Had the OEM potenzas before and these grip much better.

 

The OEM potenzas are not the PP versions.

I have been very curious to try both of these wheels out. I liked my RE050A's, but I thought they could have been a little better. Hopefully the PP's are a significant upgrade.

I had a set of these Stones on my Z, very sticky tires....70 MPH in driving rain and never a bobble. But....the wear rating is 140 and I went thru them is just about 10K miles, at $1200= a set that's not in my yearly budget. So I switched to Michelin Sports with a wear rating at 240 and sold the Z. Currently I'm using Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, the 245/35 & 275/35X19 are rated at 220 and just as sticky but feel they'll last 25K miles....we'll see.

how are these compared to T1R's? Im currently running these on my car and drove a camry as my last car so dont really have anything to compare to lol..

 

I've wondered about this also. I know the PS2 is a well regarded tire. I have not been happy with my OEM tires. I have 13k on the car and they won't last much longer. I was thinking of the Kumhos.

 

Performance wise T1R's cant hold a candle to the upper tier tires like the re050a PP GS-D3 PS2 etc, but they make a decent long lasting tire for a daily driver who doesn't really drive aggressively. The T1R's are notorious for soft sidewalls which some people don't like.

 

I can attest to the PP RE050A's. These are GREAT TIRES! Grips good when warm, excellent wet traction, and the noise level went down from the reg RE050A's.

I've read good things about the PS2's though, I will say if money wasn't an issue I would go with the PS2. I had a 25% off coupon from firestone, and during the month I was getting new tires, bridgestones were giving away 100$ cash back if you buy a set of tires.

 

On a side note, the only thing that makes me think twice about the RE050A PP's over the PS2's is the weight differences. The PP's are a little on the heavy side

...but then again, the price differences is significant and the PP's are a better value for a max performance tire.

 

That's a tough call. Pole Positions are supposedly awesome tires. I have yet to drive on them, but hopefully soon. My homie just slapped a brand new set on his Evo 9.
