just lowered with 19"
i just lowered my car and got 19"s for my G. looks real nice but i can't park in my garage anymore =(. the ride is great...i little stiffer than the stock sports suspension, but not unbearable. gotta watch out for potholes though. i got my work done at Auto Addictions in PA. the place is great, and even though i live in NY it was totally worth the ride out there....if you live in the area check them out.

Re: just lowered with 19"
my garage where i live is elevated rather sharply from the street and because of the lowering it can't clear the hump...i will have pics up by next weekend...im getting some other work done to it...but good things come to those who wait. =)

Re: just lowered with 19"
i used Eibach pro kit springs...i have the stock sport suspension. the ride height was lowered about an inch and a half from the springs but then because i got a much lower profile tire it dropped it about another half inch. i'd say the car is dropped almost a good 2"!! i'll have pics up by this weekend!!! im trying!! =)

Re: just lowered with 19"
Jays_G,
If your tires lowered your car by 1/2" then your speedometer is going to be off by loads. If your car really was lowered by 1/2" then the radius is less by 1/2" and diameter is less by 1". This would make a big difference in speed calculations. You may want to check it again (my stock sport 17" wheel and tire height is just a touch over 25") and maybe consider some kind of countermeasure.
Good luck!

Re: just lowered with 19"
yeah your right. i've noticed that my speedo seems to read faster than i'm giong. im working on the calculations and am thinking of going wider to get a little larger profile or just going with a larger profile tire altogether. it looks damn nice though! =( thanks for the imput, it just backs up my initial thinking.

Now that you've got your Eibach's, are you interested in selling your sport springs?

Re: just lowered with 19"
Just an FYI.....another thing you might want to consider when you're increasing the wheel size is that you're not only closing the wheel gap (a good thing for those of us who like the sportier ride and look) but you're also raising the car slightly higher off the ground. Since you're in the NY area, then the slight height increase may be benefical. Those in Cali, Florida or flatter warmer states may take note.
If I had realized this when I upgraded my wheels, I would've gone with only 1 size up. Performance wise, the car handled better, but I lost a few 10ths of a sec off the 1/4 mile.

Re: just lowered with 19"
Bukwheat,
I don't understand how the wheel gap gets closed. If the overall wheel and tire diameter stays the same with the new wheels and tires isn't everything still the same except the tire sidewall height and tread width (wheel height grows while tire height shrinks). Any wheel/tire choice that increases/decreases the overall diameter is probably a bad choice for the speedo calculations, etc.
