I'm really starting to love chromed 19" OEM Ray's on black G's but to buy a new set it's around $1,500 from what I've seen. I've seen a bunch of sets of stock OEM Ray's for $700 - $900 and I'm thinking if I bought a set of those then I could just get them chromed and save some money. I know of an electroplating place in my area but I don't know how to tell them what I want them to do. Would I have them chrome the entire wheel or do they just do the outer part that's visible after the tire is put on?

Well if you paid $900 for a set and then had them chromed you would probably spend at least, but probably more then the $1500 for a new set. A good chromer will charge around $200 to chrome one wheel. I just went through this with my motorcycle and all said and done it was almost $300 to do one wheel.
The other problem is that the chrome won't hold up to the harsh conditions of winter, so unless you have another set of wheels you plan on using during the winter then chrome isn't a good idea.

Not worth it.
IMO chrome is just too much. Our cars are luxury sports cars. Not some "VIP" bling-bling baller car.
It just doesn't look good on our cars. Save your money for something else.... like coilovers or a nice kit.
Chrome your rims and you might as well stick on the magnetic chrome fender vents you get from Pep Boys.

I just bought a set of chromed wheels so we'll see what it looks like and I'll post some pics in the media share section (can't wait for the chrome flaming!
). I think I'm gonna like it but to each his own. Plus, if I don't like them I can just sell them and get something else. No harm done.

I think some of the oem rims look real nice chromed. Look at L.A. Wheel and Tire, http://www.lawheel.com/
I think if your in a place where you have a significant winter climate with salt and sand being used on the roads, your best advised not to have them on your car in the winter.
