235/45/18 tires on front rims for G35 Coupe

Can I put 235/45/18 tires on the front stock rims of a 05 G35 coupe?
The original size is 225/45/18 but I can get a good deal on 235 and was wondering if the stock rims can support that size.
Let me know. Thx

No problem, you won't have any issues running the 235s on the front. I ran 245s for a long time and loved how they worked.

You can definitely put 235's on the front. The back is the same wheel and it has 245's stock. I've got Coupers and I'm putting 245's on all 4. You could even put 255's on. They're squeezed just a bit, but they'll work fine.

The 235/40 is pretty small, smaller in diameter than the stock size for the front of a Coupe (225/45-18). The real problem with the 235/45-18 is not the size, it's the relatively poor selection of tires that are available, good tires anyway. You can get Kumho SPT, General Exclaim, Yokohama Avid W4S, Toyo Proxes 4 or T1R, Vredestein Sessanta, Hankook Ventus H105, or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Other than the Michelin and maybe the T1R, these are just middle-of-the-pack tires IMHO. The T1R is decent, but expensive ($190+), so you might as well spend another $10-$15 per tire and buy the Michelins.

The stock 225/45-18 has a far better selection of tires, with basically any and every make/model of tire coming in that size. You could also consider a 245/40 for the front. It's still smaller than stock, but not by much, and the tire selection is also very good.

Personally, I would stay away from 235/45-18 unless you're willing to buy the Michelins. But the other tires are definitely more affordable, with most going for $300-$340 for 2 tires.

Yeah I kind of regret buying the 235.40 but the tire performed exceptionally well in the snow rain and dry for the budget tire it might be considered. i think my next all season set will be the kumho asx or the new continental dsw if Im feeling spendy.

I have a 235/35 KDWs from BF Goodrich and I'm happy with them, although next time I'll prolly go 245s in the front and keep my 275s in the rear. Not sure if I wanna go softer towards Advans or not

You must be talking about a 235/35-19, right? The OP has 18" wheels. If you're talking about 235/35-18, that tire is 6% smaller in diameter than a stock Coupe front, and I'd be shocked if you weren't having VDC problems.

And yes, the KDW's are known to be one of the loudest tires out there, but they don't come in a 235/45-18.

No I'm running 235/35/19. They do look pretty small compared to my 275/35/19. Next time I'm gonna go a bit bigger in the front with a 40 I think tho, otherwise the tires look goofy

hi guys
just want to double (and triple) check
will 245/45/18 run well BOTH front and back on a 2006 G35 Coupe?

i am more concern about the front since the fronts is now larger
radius 13inch to radius 13.3 inch
side wall 4in to 4.3in

i am concerned if 245/45/18 all around would cause the VDC to kick in
i want to buy winter wheels and there is a good sale for the 245/45/18

thanks for any clarification.

I'm running 245/45-18 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports all around on Coupe 18x8 wheels on my Sedan. They look awesome and the performance is excellent, with no VDC problems at all. You can run them on your Coupe, but why not the stock size?

This does not help
I need to know if there are vdc problems in a coupe not sedan
tirerack happens to have 245/45/18 at a cheaper price

245/45-18's are only 2.7% larger than the stock 225/45-18 fronts, so shouldn't affect the VDC (< 3% is the general rule). I'd be careful running a winter tire with such a large contact patch as a 245/45. They won't be as effective as 235/45 or 225/45 winter tires. Better yet, get some 17" wheels and use them for a winter setup. Tires are cheaper.
