Pilot Sport A/S Plus or Goodyear Eagle GT

Trying to get a set of all season tires for my 05 Coupe with OEM 19s.
Any opinions on get a set of Goodyear Eagle GTs and saving $350 bucks versus getting the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus? I'm need to pull the trigger soon and any advice would be helpful.

If you are wanting to get the Mich Pilot A/S plus Discount Tire has a $70 rebate that ends today....I just bought mine today for $1043 shipped plus the $70 rebate so under a grand for a 45K warrantied tire is not bad. There are not many options for non summer tires for our staggered set up.

If damp wet panic stopping is any concern check TireRack for stopping distances.
Normally Michelin A/S is significantly better at a cooler temperature!

$350 may be less than your insurance deductable for rear ending someone. I would consider the 10 feet shorter stopping as a definite plus.

I just got some Eagle GTs for my rears, they seem ok for now, haven't experienced any real wet conditions to compare them to my previous Sumitomo A/S which are still on the front. I'll get front Eagle GTs when I put them back on in the winter. I hope to have my new wheels and tires on by the middle of the month.

The Michelin is our top tire right now for across the board performance. The biggest difference between them is the a/s traction and ride/noise side of things. The GY isn't as good in those areas, but not by a huge amount. The Mich is a great tire if you want the top and have the $ for it. However, the GY will do anything you need it to on the street for everyday use at less cost.

Yup, call me direct or mention my name in the comment line when ordering online.

Pair of GY shipped would be $313.71, the Mich $480.85.

The GY is asymmetrical so it can be rotated any position, the Mich directional so will have to come off the wheels to be put on opposite side of car. Both are a/s tires.

Not the best idea as differ tires/patterns will give the car a spilt personality, especially in the wet. If you do mix try to get a tire as similar to the fronts as possible.

NP! R just stands for Radial, all radials today will have that designation. Z states the tire is good for speeds 149 mph+. The a/s ability has a bit more to do with the tread design and compounds than the speed rating.
