Well let's hope this company doesn't get greedy and start jacking up the prices. Which most likely will happen. So buy why they still are cheap.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
I have about 6000 miles on mine and they don't show much, if any, wear. As mentioned above they're quiet and grip well in wet or dry conditions. I like them better than the Falken 452s and the Kuhmo Ecsta tires I had previously.

The guy at the shop that installed them asked why I had ordered these, said he'd never heard anything positive about Hankooks. I told him to browse a couple of car forums and check out the Car and Driver article with a big smile on my face. It always amuses me when I know more about a product than the people selling it.

I have the Hankook Ventus V4s on my rears that are rated 420 in the treadwear dept. They are fairly quiet, and are great in the rain. Regardless of the rating, I expect to get maybe 12-14k before they are shot. They are super cheap and in that respect cannot complain.

I think the treadwear is very very low on these tires. IIRC rated @ 260 which is subpar for most high performance summer tires. Still for the price, you cannot go wrong! But I have to admit, I am very much in love w/ my Vredesteins Ultrac Sessantas!!!

Possible? Sure. Likely? No way. Not unless you literally drive like a grandma for the next few years. They've got a treadwear of 280 and they're a Max Performance Y rated tire. I've got Bridgestone RE760 Sports (340, W rated) and if I get 25K out of them I'll be very happy.

Me too. I can't remember the last time I made a somewhat bigger purchase and didn't know more about it than the seller.

You cant compare tread rating between manufacturer, but still I know were your coming from. Most of the miles I drive are highway, since I drive to school, which is 31 miles away. But I read around and you can get 25-30k out of these tires, they wear pretty good.

Another member has 6/32nds on General tires at 23k, so That tire last a pretty good while, too but they are (380 tread wear).

The Hankooks, and the Generals(exclaim) are the two tires I am looking at, Both are the same price. The Generals are good tires as well, but not as good dry traction though.

Agreed on the treadwear comparisons, but you'd think Hankook would have a higher one if they expected that many miles out of them. I think it's a good tire, and strongly considered it when I got my RE760's, but I was a little cautious about the brand and their low treadwear rating. I also don't know how well they wear, i.e. do they wear evenly throughout the life of the tire. Everything I've read has been very positive about this tire, I just didn't trust it as much as the Bridgestones. I'll definitely consider them in the future if their initial rep is validated.

^ Yea, lots of great reviews on this tire. People say they do wear evenly, and I just read over at a g37 site, that after 7k the tread still looks new, but that does not really say much though. I wish I could find out X/32nds :O.

Confusing question. It would be the same for any tire brand. 225/40-19 and 245/40-19 are the stock OEM 19" sizes, but many/most people run 245/35-19 and 275/35-19.

That doesnt make any sense...Treadwear ratings are very subjective as dicussed between our post. Also the treadwear ratings are not ratings that measure the tires true performance. They are rough indicators of grip and wear levels. So in all actuality you want a treadwear less than 300 when searching for summer/sport tires. So i am not sure if you are saying the number is too high or too low. For a consumer type tire, its right where it should be for a street tire. In my travels, if you want more wear resistance you go higher (typically less grip as well), if you want a more sportier tire you go lower (more grip, less duration of use).

I mean sure this isnt no OEM tire with a treadwear of 180, but this tire will perform near as well, last longer and do better in the rain and it cost substantially less. Some even argue its quieter and provides a better ride in terms of comfort.

With everything this tire offers in terms of value and performance, I think it is unrivaled in the market at the moment. Sure there are tires out there with more performance (seems Toyo T1-R owners like to chime in against this tire) and others that last longer (Kumho ECST-SPT, Falken 452, BFG KDW-2), but they all give up something in their performance (dry grip, noise levels) and some obviously cost more and even less.

I like others did my research, for me it came down to the sizes I wanted and a blend of performance/cost benefit, this was the best tire for my purposes and needs.
