New Brakes U Warranty - ARE THEY BETTER?

Do the new ones last longer - they seem to stop as well so my guess is no. Also the rotors are gone at 21k! Jeez - glad this is on thier dime..

The new brakes do not last longer! I had new brakes put on
at 16K, 30k and 45K. The pads last 15K miles, period!

I had the brakes replaced at 31k under the brake war and they don't stop for $hit. I would like my old brakes back as they stopped on a dime and made change. The pads dust more than before....Nice fix Nissan

Mine stop on a dime. They are really great. Once I was getting
on it in traffic, I switched lanes only to see a stopped car in
front waiting to make a left hand turn into a shopping area.
I was certaintley gonna crash. I stood on the brakes and
stopped in plenty of time. God I love these brakes!
I don't care if they wear out, they are supposed to. I do
care about superior braking performance.

I agree! I feel that the new brakes don’t stop quite as well as before and that they’re just as dusty as the originals, if not worse! Plus, I think I can already feel them wearing a lip in my rotors again. I guess I’ll go aftermarket after my warranty is up.

I will go after market as well. I am too close to the end of my war. I'm at 32k.

If they change the compound and the G35 takes longer to stop, many people who relied on the published specs will be angry. Better to let owners pick an aftermarket compound [and or rotors] and assume total legal responsibility for braking distances.

Damned if you do or don't: somebody will always want something different.

Re: New Brakes U Warranty - ARE THEY BETTER?

i just had mine replaced under the warranty at about 16k miles and i think the braking is exactly the same. correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't the tsb addressing the brake life issue that many owners were complaining about? it was NOT for the brake dust. i know a lot of ppl complain about the brake dust on our coupes. but honestly, everybody i know who owns a new sports car nowadays has issues with brake dust. i believe it comes with the territory--better braking performance, bigger pads, wheel designs with open spokes, etc. so, i don't know why so many ppl are complaining about it. perhaps my expectations are too low and i'm the only one who sees brake dust as normal.

I clean the dam wheels alot but can't complain with stopping power like this. Remember the BBS wheels on BMW's all those years where the fronts were black and the rears were white or alloy? You live with it

Re: New Brakes U Warranty - ARE THEY BETTER?

Never had clean raers on any BMW in my family. All the brakes work thus they stop on a dime. I am more pissed that mine don't stop as well as new and dust the same. Eagle1 solves the dust issue but how do I get my stooping power back?
Q45-is the brake fuild changed when the brake war is done?
