New G35/350gt Owner needs help with offsets!

Hi,I am a new G35/350gt owner in England and have just bought some Ultralite evolve alloy wheels 19x9 front and 19x10 back, not knowing to much about offsets I never asked which offsets would be suitable from the alloy wheel dealer, the front and back wheel offsets are both labelled as being 35,would this size be suitable? I don't want the car to have the back wheels sticking out from the wheel arches, just a slightly staggered look so I thought I'd post this question to get your advice,I can exchange the wheels for a different size offset as they only arrived in the boxes today! I have attached a picture of a vehicle with the same size Evolves but would you be able to tell from the pictures what size the offsets might be to get this look? any advice would be gladly appreciated! Are the sizes for the four wheels i have just recieved all with a offset of 35 be ok to get this look? many thanks,Damian

I'm still exploring the world of offsets myself, but to me (and don't take my word on it) those look like negative offsets. Your wheels won't have the deeper dish like this guy.

I might be completely off base...

Hi, thanks for your reply. I emailed the dealer who bought the car and I have purchased exactly the same wheels in the same sizes, but he can't remember what the offsets were. I have them all at 35, which I'm not sure will be correct to the get the same as the car in the photos. They are all boxed so I can send them back as they only arrived today but I didn't think to ask about offsets!!

The car in the picture does not have negative offsets, not even close. I'd wager those are around high +20's offset depending on the width of the wheel itself, maybe even low +30's. You can check out the aggressive fitment thread or search for pictures of user ShanesG if you want to know what it takes to run low teens to negative offsets on these cars; you don't just slap them on and call it a day.

To OP you should reconsider the wheels, +35 in those widths is pretty terrible. Your wheels will be extremely sunken in and cheap looking no matter how nice the wheels themselves may be. May as well do it right the first time.

As a last resort for saving money, you can order 15mm spacers all around and have it looking passable. Or if I were you, order the wheels in new widths 9.5/10.5 and as far as offsets if you don't wanna worry at all about rubbing if you plan on lowering, get somewhere in the mid +20's all around. I had 9.5+26/10.5+26 for a while and it worked out nicely as far as trouble free driving.

Good luck!

Doesn't negative offset determine the deep dish look?

Offset factors into the equation, but it doesn't determine it. Lip size largely has to do with the design, width, disk type, and offset of the wheel.

My previous set was 10.5+26 rear and had a 4.75" lip, my current setup is 10.5+22 and the lip is smaller. Go figure!

Interesting... can you explain disk type? Or is there info out there? That's a new one for me...

On Shanes Kranson wheels, he's running 20x10.0 -4 and 20x11.5 -2

There are several disk types you can request when ordering wheels, depending on what you want for that particular application. I believe the difference has to do with the thickness of the center rim, but don't quote me on that!

A-disk is considered standard, O-disk provides the biggest lip sizes per each offset, R-disk is for people that need clearance running BBK's without sacrificing the ability to run aggressive low offsets.

Thanks for the advice! Keep it coming!,Any more opinions regarding whether The size off the offsets at 35 all round would be the same as the car in the pictures,I don't want the wheels to really protrude the arches just be the same as the photos
