Quieter tire suggestion?

Soo i have slapped on some Kumo's in the rear and Michelin Pilots in the front. The Kumo's are loouuud as a hell...lots of people said to switch them with the Michelin's in the rear as well.. Anyone have any other suggestion far as name brand goes? I just want a lower noise tire..

Its never a good idea to mix match brands because not all tires are created equal. If you're unhappy with the Kumhos then get rid of them and put the michelins on.

Would also help to provide more information about which specific tires you have so we can help you more specifically next time.

Michelin without a doubt spends more money on noise control than any other brand. Just a left over decision by the founding family to be the quietest and most durable tire available in the world.

Many US companies have to pinch pennies because of Union Health care and retirement cost in contracts.

Study the financials of each tire manufacture and isolate the % amount spent on R&D and expensive materials per tire produced.

You will see why Michelin generally cost more because you get more.

Because of the human expense Michelin uses more robots vs Koreans who pay 1/2 US wages and use more fallable humans.

If money is not an issue, Go with Michelin. They are the most quiet and stays quiet much longer than most.

Try Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta.

I have not had any of the tire you have on but comparing to Toyos Vredestein is a much quieter and better tire.

+1 on both accounts. What year/model or tire size(s) you using?

Remember most tests are on brand new tires, so manufacturers have learned how to cheat the system by optimizing new tread depth and not worrying about what happens after 8,000 miles. Super quiet brand new then noisey as hell after 8,000 miles is the norm except for Michelin who take promises of long term durability seriously.

Even Michelin warns that after 20,000 miles the durability suffers and all bets are off.

You have missed this year's Tire Society meeting but there is always next year for those who really want to understand tires:
