anyone done the 245 f / 255 r on stock 18's?
Re: anyone done the 245 f / 255 r on stock 18's?
i have had no problems yet. i actually am very happy with these tires and the setup. like i said, they mechanic at infiniti even said this setup feels much better. no problems with the vdc, it just rained the other day and everything was fine. and only 725 shipped from tirerack. im happy with it. but again, im not racing and peeling out every day. just normal everyday use. with the ocasssional need for speed.

Any recomendations on tire pressure for this size. The manual says 35psi for the oem tires. Discount Tire always sets them to 30psi when they install/rotate. 30 feels real smooth, but seems kind of low. 35 is a little rough, and probably just recommended for gas milage requirements. Any advice is appreciated.
Re: anyone done the 245 f / 255 r on stock 18's?
I have now had my 255/45/18 rear and 245/40/18 front for 1 week. I chose the Kuhmo ASX high-performance all season for three reasons: (1) I loved the wet traction of my last set of Kuhmos. I had the 712's on my 3rd gen RX-7. They stuck like glue in the rain. This was very important on a 2800 lb. car with 300 RWHP....(2) PRICE..PRICE...PRICE...I talked Sears into selling me the set for $675 mounted/balanced/tax and free lifetime rotate and balance..Tire Rack was a bit cheaper, but the extra $60 I spend is well worth the lifetime rotate and balance...(3) All season because I will go aftermarket setup in spring of 2005. That gives me a stock set with a winter type set-up to keep aftermarkets in storage during that time...
My initial reaction was during the first clover leaf off ramp..Much less under steer than stock 225/45/18...almost unnoticable....
I am running 34psi all the way around currently...very nice ride, but I will probably go up a couple of psi to try and improve overall feel...It just feels too soft @ 34psi.....Handling/Grip is obviously not as good as stock or other summer high performance, but they handled excellent for everyday driving and mildly aggressvie fun around corners.

P.S. Absolutely NO PROBLEMS with this set-up in relation to VDC...I dumped the clutch with VDC "ON" and it worked the same as always....
