Red face Tire Size Suggestions...

Just swap my stock wheels on my X for coupe 18s. Since the tires are staggerred, I need to get rid of 2 tires. Dont want to buy 4 new for the time being.

Fronts: 225/45/18
Rears: 245/45/18

What would you do? Go all 245/45 or all 225/45? Other suggestions?

For reference, I will be dropping the car over the next few months on Tein H-Techs or H/R Sedan springs.

make it all 245/45 ... the bigger the tires the better for driving and turning and much more stable and of course look a lot better.

You might want to run some calcs to see which is closest to OEM outer diameter specs. Sorry, but I don't have calc. near me, otherwise I'd do it for you.

I'm running slightly larger than OEM size when it comes to outer diameter (245/40/19), so if anything, you'll want to run the larger size, otherwise you'll have a more significant fender gap and your speedo will be off a bit (mine is off by 2% or so).

Stock sedan sport is 235/45/18. Look here to compare sizes: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

I would go with the 245.

I agree with 245 but you may want to compare and do the calc as suggested above.

You will thank us later

If I drop it, will I have rubbing issues with the 245/45s?

^^^yes and no depending upon your drop... You should drop it first unless you really need tires.

I'm dropped on Z/Coupe springs and I rub in the rear with 245/40 when going over some bumps. If I ever have my GFs daughter (~50lbs) in the back seat it rubs more.

Could probably be taken care of with a little negative camber.

What tires are they? My Micheline pilot sports in the 255 width is almost if not more narrow than the RE050s in the 245 width.
