TPMS reset on your own....

I know we all hate the dreaded TPMS light...esp those of us up north running a set of summer and winter wheels. I hate the idea of going to the dealer each time i need it done, but also hate the idea of having a warning light constantly on.

So i did some reading here. Apparently You can put the car into TPMS learning mode rather easily by grounding a test connector under the dash. Details, and a tool to do this in this threads

https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-...ial-tools.html

Now, there is mention of using a special tool to initialize each wheel sensor, or you can do the staggered pressure method and drive around. I've tried this method...and it doesn't work. (at least not for me...so maybe i did something wrong)

SO i was browsing another website to order parts for my other vehicle and stumbled across this.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/tpms-tool.html

Now, if my understanding of tpms is right, the systems work sort of the same. I don't beleive this tool is Mustang specific. The mustang uses similar schrader valve sensors. Now, if i'm right, you should be able to put your car into TPMS learning mode easily by grounding the connector (or using the nissan TPMS tool) and then initializing using this tool above??

Am i right in my thinking?? Think it's worth a shot?

We also carry a Quickset reset tool for $135 so you can do them at home vs. dealer.

Okay, that would work...

But the fact that the tool i listed is $35 makes it a little more attractive to me...if in fact it does work. I'll prob order it just to try as i can sell it to a buddy with a Mustang if it doesn't work.
