Hey guys, I'm getting new tires because my current 255/30/20's are causing me to scrape the mid-section of my exhaust. The reason why this is happening is cause I have 245/35/20's on the front wheels which are 26.75" in diameter whereas the rears are currently at 26.02".
I'm gonna be putting 255/35/20's in the rear which will be 27.02" in diameter, so a 1" difference. From what I've been told, this should fix the scraping issue.

Now I'm thinking of going from 245/35/20 in the front to 235/35/20 but that'll mean the front tires will be 0.28" smaller in diameter so I'm worried it'll cause more scraping.

The reason I want to go for the 235/35's is to match the stretch on the rears.
Wheels are 20x9.5 +25 up front and 20x10.5 +33 and I'm dropped on H&R springs. 2nd gen sedan.

Anyone know whether I'll have any problems or will I be ok with this change?

Yeah it will lower it but unlike the 245/30/20 that you're running (which is 1" smaller in diameter), the 235/35/20 I ordered is only 0.28" smaller in diameter.
That means it will lower the car by around 0.15" or so. That is such a minimal drop that it won't cause any scraping.

I posted this thread before doing any calculations. Plus I spoke with both Grant and Levon and they said it shouldn't have any effect.

 

I'd go with the 245/35's. Better overall diameter and carries closer to the correct amount of weight.

 

Thanks for your reply Neal, I've already ordered a set of 235/35/20 and 255/35/20 General Exclaim UHPs from tirerack. I'm just waiting for you guys to get the rears in stock so they are shipped out.

I went with the 235/35's to clear my fender bracket and match the stretch that the 255/35's will give in the rear. The maximum load for the 235/35's is 1389 lbs which means it is more than enough to safely put on the G anyways.
