^ For looks yes, and to make the rims sit as flush as they can to the fenders without the tires rubbing on the metal.

who said that stretching tires is for looks and cost savings? that's pretty far from the truth

the only reason why people do it is to be able to fit aggressive wheels on their cars

anyone doing it soley for the look is an idiot

+1. It is for the clearance with aggressive wheels and that should be the only reason you stretch.

But back to the topic. I'm 225/35 Toyo Extensa and a 245/35 Yoko S-Drive.

Dude the Yoko S-Drive 245/35 isn't even that much of a stretch on a 10.5. The 225/35 Toyo Extensa on the 9.5 is a different story tho.

The only reason I have the Yoko S-Drive 245/35 on my rear 10.5 is because it used to be on my front. I didn't feel like buying 4 brand new sets of tires to stretch, so I just put it on the rear and got new fronts.

^ I agree... sort off. People who do it for looks are idiots. Unfortunately, i'm pretty sure a lot of people do it for looks alone. You see a lot of cars that are stanced way beyond functionality.

From what I know, drift guys use it for cost, so that they can fit aggressive wheels on their cars w/o paying too much for tires. Especially since they go through so much tires. Stretched tires also eliminates sidewall flex for better feel when drifting.

Noob question, but according to what I read in this thread, I could put a 245/40 tire on a 10.5 wheel? The tires are Goodyear Eagle RS-A's btw.

If you want your tire shop to hate you, but Nittos.

Nittos DO NOT STRETCH. The compound is way too firm and you need to be ****in' good just get them to bead. Everything single set I've stretched were a bitch.

Solid tires to stretch

Falken Ziex 512
Falken Ziex 912
Falken FK452
Falken Azenis RT 615
Falken Azenis ST 115
Dunlop Direzza DZ101
Toyo T1R
Toyo Proxes 4
Nankang NSII
Hankook Ventus v12
Hankook V4s
General UHP

Look up the fitment chart on this forum, all tire brands run slightly larger/smaller. Only a few companies are true to their sizing.

+1 on the Ventus V12. Stretch very well. Kumho's do OK but tend to run a large IIRC.
